About Us/Why

The democratic process works best when people can openly share their opinions and engage one another in to participate. Recent articles in Time Magazine and the New York Times (Hyperlinks) have shown how record numbers of new voters in primary elections have resulted in wins for Barak Obama in Iowa, and Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire that were not predicted by pollsters.

We believe this points to the power of word of mouth, and how people can actually express their views to one another and effect real political change. We created 2008CandidateCalendar.com, and the free calendars available for websites, blogs, and social networks, to be a platform for the American people to communicate with one another and participate in the political process.

When candidates spend millions of dollars on advertising campaigns, and political pundits in newspapers, television networks, magazines and blogs all cover issues from different perspectives, we felt the average person needed their voice to be heard and to be able to engage their fellow citizens in meaningful ways.

We do not support or endorse any political candidate or party, and we will protect the privacy of your contact information and your friends and family. Our goal is to give you a way to convert your interest into participation in the democratic process by enabling you to engage people on the issues that matter most to you. We hope you find this useful, and appreciate any suggestions you might have on how we could use our platform to ensure fair and balanced presidential elections.

Community and education groups around the world use free calendars like the ones featured on this website to engage people on local and national levels. To learn more about Spongecell click here or go directly to sign-up for a free account to create your own calendar.
